Triumphal Arch (Class II)

Triumphal Arch (Class II)

Howe and McCarthy, 2012, woodcut, edition of 2 (photo credit: Clive McCarthy)

This series of large woodcuts is a collaborative project with digital media artist Clive McCarthy. Images of monumental structures within the landscape (freeways, bridges, boulders, and large-scale debris piles)  are processed using custom-built code designed to cut relief printing blocks with an industrial CNC router. Blocks are then printed by hand on a traditional etching press.
